Our Story

Two brothers. Two careers. One shared conviction.

A Labour Relations Officer turned lawyer and a seasoned technologist — together they are building the continuity system unions have been missing.

Where it all began

Michel spent years on the inside — first as a Labour Relations Officer for a national union, then as a lawyer conducting workplace investigations and assessments. Moving from working in a union to working with unions gave him an unfiltered view of where the friction lived: the workflows, the gaps, the moments where the right information simply wasn't in the right hands.

Aubert took a different path. As a seasoned technologist, he made a career out of one idea — that technology should feel human. That the most powerful platforms are the ones people actually use.

When their paths converged, the opportunity was obvious. Michel knew exactly what was broken. Aubert knew exactly how to fix it.

UnionEyes is what happened next.

Our mission

Put the same clarity, accountability, and operational control that large organizations take for granted into the hands of every union — built by someone who lived it, and someone who knows how to scale it.

What we stand for

Organizers are the central actors

Technology serves people, never replaces them. Stewards make the decisions. The system provides support. There is no 'AI case manager.' There never will be.

No surveillance, no weaponized metrics

We don't track 'organizer productivity' or 'case closure rates.' We don't build leaderboards. System health, yes. People surveillance, never.

Human dignity comes first

Every grievance represents a person who was wronged. We treat that with the seriousness it deserves. No gamification. No corporate cheerfulness. Just respect.

Democratic governance baked in

UnionEyes has a reserved-matter governance structure. Union-elected representatives hold reserved oversight seats and exercise worker consent on change of control or mission change. This isn't marketing — it's in our shareholder agreement.

Who is building this

UnionEyes was not assembled by a generalist software team that discovered the labour market. It was built by two named individuals with complementary, attestable domain experience.

Michel Nungisa

Co-Founder · Domain & Doctrine

Former Labour Relations Officer at a national union. Later, a lawyer conducting workplace investigations and assessments. Michel has worked inside unions, with unions, and across the procedural surface that UnionEyes is designed to support.

Aubert Nungisa

Co-Founder · Architecture & Operations

Career technologist focused on operational platforms that people actually use. Responsible for how UnionEyes is designed, deployed, and operated in Canadian-hosted environments.

Both founders are reachable through the Executive Briefing channel — and remain operationally involved in every pilot deployment.
